Our topic next term is all about the mighty Vikings.
Over the Easter holiday we would like you to carry out some research on the Vikings. In particular, we would you to find out:
1. Who were the Vikings?
2. How did the Vikings fight?
3. What was life like in Viking Britain?
Good luck on your research and have a lovely Easter!
Hi mr Carr,
Vikings were Norse seafarers, speaking the old Norse language, who raided and traded from there Scandinavian homelands across wide areas of northern and Central Europe,as well as European Russia ,during the late 8th to late 11th centuries .Viking warriors fought using long swords and axes .A good sword was handed down from father to son ,but Vikings also buried weapons with their owner when he died .The vikings were not all bloodthirsty raiders,so came to fight but others came to Britain to live peacefully. Thank you for these tasks, I had fun doing them .
